Best pump I've ever bought
I use this to keep the water off my pool cover. This is the second one I've owned. The first one lasted 20 years. Wouldn't consider anything else.

Won't quit!
I have water in my basement every spring and until I spend a bunch of money and solvethe problem I have been just dealing with it using a small pump set in a recessed area of the floor. The first pump I bought had a sensor in it that would turn itself on when water was present and shut itself off when all the water was pumped out. Well it did not work. What happened was that it would fail turning itself on and the whole basement floor would flood with several inches of water depending on how much time went by before detecting the failure. I took that one back and the replacement failed exactly the same way. I took that one back and spent more money on a fancy model that was sure to work and that one failed as well. All this going on while your basement is flooding was stressing me out! Anyway, I finally got fed up and bought the cheapest model they had and eureka it worked like a charm. This unit just pumps along and will not quit. There only needs to be the smallest amount of water present to keep it from heating up and should things dry up it shuts itself off via a thermal overload switch. this past spring I found this exact pump on Amazon and bought it for back up. I have yet to take it out of the box. That original unit is on it's third year and it will run 24/7 for 8 weeks and has two years in a row.

flotec good pump
it is a pump. It is meant to pump. It pumps.I used to have the same pump and it lasted 10 long years of pumping service. It was made in italy. It broke 1 months ago, overheating, while pumping out my pool under renovation... I went to the famous "deposit-house" big store and bought an "almost identical" pump. This time it was made in china. This time the pump lasted 2-3 hours and then exploded leaking all the cooling oil on the surface that I`ve to paint.. What the heck.. I returned to the big store and with the refund I went online (amazon) and found the same identical flotec. Now it is pumping again.. And I look forward to many years of happy pumping.Every week or so, I get pissed with the constantly decreasing quality of items available in the twin-big-brothers stores.. And every week or so, I end up in amazon, reading reviews and purchasing well designed equipment: even the wipers of the car...good luck.

Pump works great but was damaged
This pump is to replace one like it that I had previously. Pump works well but had an external piece broken off in shipment because it was shipped in the original packaging with no additional padding. UPS wasn't gentle enough. Box was torn and a tab used to pick up the pump under the hose connection was broken off.

Recirculating dog bathing system diy
The media could not be loaded. This little pump works great! I used it to create a diy “bathing beauty” or recirculating dog bathing system! Much better than spending $699 on a ready made Bathing Beauty or Hydrosurge! This Flotec pump was recommended by someone else who uses them to make recirculating bathing systems for their grooming shop. If I wanted to build a second I would definitely buy this pump again!

Works great, pumped out 1000 gallon tank
Works great, pumped out 1,000 gallon tank for in about an hour. It was pumping onto the ground with no head, so I can't say how it would do against 5 or 10 feet of head. It is intended for clear water but there was precipitated lime and slimy algae in my tank, and it pumped it pretty well, plugging a couple of times but cleared easily by unplugging it an swishing it in the tank. It comes with an adapter for a garden hose.

Flotec pump works great
It is easy to use and completes the job I purchased it for, to get standing water off of the pool cover on my 27’ round above ground pool. At first, when it arrived, I thought it was too big & heavy but I just place it on the cover near the edge, plug it in and it does the job!

Didn't last 150 days
We used in a 10 X 17' goldfish pond with a Fish Mate 3000PUV Pressurized UV+Bio Pond Filter (5 stars). We live in a cold climate and so only used this pump late April - late Aug. Labor Day weekend, well before freezing, we took it out of the pond, let it dry and stored it inside garage for the winter. This spring we took it out, put in pond and nothing. Wouldn't run and every time we plugged it in, it caused the GFI to trip... did some troubleshooting (husband is electrician) - was definitely caused by this pump. We had to get another pump purchased locally. Would not buy this item again and the limited return policy didn't help.(Sold by: Amazon.com LLC)
