SwissGearSion Softside Expandable Luggage, Black, Carry-On 21-Inch

I’m so glad to have found this large quality soft side luggage at a very affordable price! I had used Samsonite soft side luggage before, but bought a large hard shell when the soft side was wearing down after a decade of use. The hard shell turned out to be a mistake. It was harder to pack, suffered damage to its wheels because of its oversized height, and finally was shattered at a corner that included one of the wheels! Fortunately the Oceania cruise ship had someone who could expertly glue it back enough for the return flight. So I bought a Swissgear unit for checked baggage. I couldn’t be happier! On a recent trip it suffered no stress or damage through six airports and 3 cruise ship handlings. It was easily maneuverable, easier to pack, held as much if not more than the hard shell, and included a waterproof pouch for sundries.

I bought this for a recent long distance trip where I needed a carry on for quick flight changes due to a short connection time in Tokyo. At first I was concerned for space, but after searching for tips online and carefully choosing items for the trip, I found this suitcase more than took care of my needs. The handle and smooth rolling action made it easy to travel with along with handles in strategic locations to help for easy overhead storage. This suitcase easily survived my adventure and I intend on using this for years to come. Amazing what you can pack in this if you take some time to plan carefully.

I bought two of these large suitcases to take on an upcoming trip. They seem to be very nice. The wheels are most important and the wheels on these seem strong and well-placed. They are big enough…I have been able to pack everything I want to take. I love the color. Not a red…forgot what the actual color is but I think it will be easier to spot on the baggage roundabout at the airport. The zippers seem just fine. I like the added pouches on front for last minute items. These seem sturdy, roll beautifully, size is great, color is very nice and the handle works perfectly. They arrived very quickly. We have used our Samsonite for years and alas, a wheel broke on a recent vacation. After many years of use…the pieces were looking well worn. It was time to buy new. I hope we have many years of use out of this luggage.

I bought the Teal and I must say that it is a beautiful shade. I really only use this size when I do a long weekend trip. This one is slightly smaller inside than the suitcase I'm replacing, so I have to do a tad more smashing to get everything in that I normally take on these trips and would not have managed without the expansion area. It does not come with any sort of hanger wardrobe, which I knew going in, but luckily one of my other ones does fit, just barely. The only part that I'm not sure about is the handle, as it feels a bit flimsy and wobbly when wheeling the suitcase around. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping it holds up over time.

This has been to many many different countries already and held up just fine! It did get a scuff on the first trip, but that is just going to be what happens on a lighter color. It still looks amazing. Very very lightweight with a lot of room! Very easy to maneuver.

Love the size of this luggage and ease of movement. I got a lot packed into this suitcase without even expanding it. Weighed 2 1/2 lbs less than my samsonite that’s the same size.

This is a great, heavy fabric/durable suitcase. Holds up well, and plenty of room. Comes with a cute toiletry bag that snaps on the inside of the bag also. This is holding up much better than my travel pro bag of the same size.

The quality of the bag itself is very good. It's held up on the last 30 trips. The handleis a different story. The handle moves a lot if it's at full extension and even more if it's at partial extension. Being the part that you interact with the most, this is an annoying feature. The handle hasn't broken yet, but I have had multiple occasions where the button wouldn't unlock it and I couldn't easily get the handle back in the stored position. Love the bag, hate the handle.
