This product is amazing and the cost is great too. I used it for a hissing cockroach enclosure to maintain moisture. The product really expands when you follow directions and pre-soak it. No bad smells or green dyes, all natural.NOTE: To those saying it’s too small an amount, let it soak in water for 10-15 minutes. I used only 20% of the bag (as shown in image I posted) and got a huge amount of coverage.

Once you soak it you gain a lot had I known I would have use half of it I have a 10 gallon tank and it was more than enough my land turtle dug in it immediately so she likes it you can barely see her but she dug down in the moss next time I will use a half of packet

Excellent packaging. Just what I needed and it was easy to add water to so that it sprung back to normal size/shape. Smells like any other moss.

Smells awful in the beginning but I feel like it’s worth bearing through, if you rinse it out really well after soaking it I feel the smell isn’t so overpowering. If you decide to soak it again I recommend rinsing it out it seems to be most overwhelming when it’s brought back to life.It is really really dirty, like it holds dirt and dust and turns the water brown when soaking it, rinse it wellIt does hold moisture well, but is a huge pain to take out to get it wet again as it falls apart really easily when dry and gets everywhere.I use coco fiber as the base substrate in the tank and it definitely gives a great boost of color instead of the dark brown dead color.Would work great for a reptile that needs high humidity, and I wish I found this when I had ball pythons, would’ve made the dryer seasons so much easier.Terrible photo but my guy seems to enjoy how secure it feels to hide in, I feel this adds a lot of enrichment and security.

I just needed some fluffy green moss. This moss was not exactly what I wanted, but it was what could be delivered overnight. It was still not what I expected from the photo.It came completely desiccated and pressed into a flattened bag with a texture that I can only liken to a brick. Of moss.I followed the instructions. I took a piece of the moss brick and sprayed it with water to hydrate, pulled it apart gently, and fluffed it up in a big bowl. But for every piece of moss in the bowl was its equal weight in dirt. I don’t know what to expect from peat moss, maybe that’s normal? Most of it was also brown and not that green.We were making a diorama, so the dirt and brown moss wasn’t of any use but, I got enough green moss in the end and my kid did ok.. So I guess it worked out- ish.
