3D Wooden Puzzles Vitascope for Adults - Model Building Kits Mechanical Construction for Adults to Build, Educational Brain Teaser DIY Crafts Kits, Halloween Collection Gifts for Men (Vitascope)

Got this for my wife for x-mas as a fun little activity for us to work on while we watch TV at night, and couldn't be more please with the result! This was our first 3D style wooden puzzle/model, prior to this we'd done some more advanced lego sets, but this was much more fun and engaging for several reasons.... - first, it's challenging....honestly it felt a little overwhelming when we first opened the box and looked through the instructions. It is way harder than the most advanced lego kits out there, because the pieces won't just snap into place automatically. It requires some steady hands and lot of patience for some of the steps, but nothing that requires a Phd or engineering degree - secondly, it looks beautiful! way more appropriate to leave out on the shelf as a decorative piece than a lego toy. It's also fully functioning and self-powered, so no need to ever crack it back open for any reason! Pro tip: some of the earlier steps (especially where you mount the gear wheel to the alternator that powers the light) will result in loose fitting connections that seemingly won't hold....that made me worried about whether this thing would ever work correctly. However, my concerns were unwarranted, because the subsequent steps add in stabilizing bearings and connections that tighten everything up and result in a perfectly working unit at the very end, if you follow all the steps correctly. In fact, I was ultimately extremely impressed with how precisely the pieces were cut and manufactured. The tolerances are all very tight and sturdy and you can tell the designers really prioritized that with this model. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a challenge, you won't be disappointed!

its so cool! these adult puzzles give me hours of satisfaction.

This is the second Rokr wooden puzzle I have assembled. I found this puzzle more challenging than my first, which was the Marble Run Explorer. Learning from experience, I was careful to wax the pieces indicated as moving parts. Some of the pieces weren't holding together during assembly, so for my own sanity, I used a dab of wood glue to keep them together while I progressed. And a few of those pieces I had to gently pull back apart due to subsequent steps, but no harm was done. I appreciate that there was a redundant part for a fragile piece I broke (be careful when punching out E23 and E24, but there are replacements). At completion, the Vitascope is assembled, sturdy, and working, and I love it. It's quite interesting and beautiful. Update: Not all heroes wear capes! I was browsing Rokr's site and found this link. It looks like these guys will send you parts if you need them, see the Parts Request tab. https://rokrpuzzles.com/contact-us/

I gifted this to my best friend and we stayed up till 3 o'clock in the morning building this thing and we were so surprised on how cool this thing was. it was a little intimidating at first but once you get to hang of it, it's actually pretty fun and this thing does actually project an image on the wall with a lens that can focus for different ranges, I was so genuinely surprised by the engineering of this product. Whoever made this is crazy smart I would've paid more. Sorry I don't have any photos. I'm at work at the moment. Whenever I get a chance, I'll hopefully upload a video. Also, is there any more films?

This is a good rainy-day project. I probably spent 12 hours over a few days putting it together. The numbered parts are fairly easy to punch out and the instructions are decent (illustrations require a magnifying glass at times though). A few of the accessible videos were helpful; some should have offered more of a closeup view. I can't imagine a child putting this together, a teen possibly. Some of the parts would not stay together and needed a dab of wood glue. Also some of the tabs that fit into adjacent parts required a bit of careful sanding to allow them to fit together. Work S L O W L Y and be careful to follow directions precisely!!! I had to take a couple sections apart when I failed there. In the end, it works. You don't get anything resembling quality video but it looks cool next to my trophies!

This was a Christmas gift for my husband so he would have something to do on some cold winter day. He likes puzzles and model rockets, so this seemed like a perfect gift. He spent a couple of afternoons and had fun assembling it. The thought and engineering that went into designing the Vitascope is pretty incredible. Although very thin, the wood is sturdy and they do include extras of a few of the smaller parts in case you break some. He did break one that didn't have an extra provided, but he easily glued it back together. The instructions are simple visual diagrams, with no descriptions, but they do include QR codes to scan for help with the more difficult parts. My husband referred to a you tube video which was great help for those sections. He has shown the finished product to several friends and family and everyone has been very impressed and amazed that it actually works.

My husband just loves this. He shows it off to all of his friends and is so proud. Very cool that it actually shows a film. It’s quite a feat to get it together but if you like a challenge it’s so worth the price.

It took patience to build, but it was fun and the end product is cool.

Kept me busy for about 4-5 hours. Great project and sturdy!!

I bought this for my 11-year-old son for Christmas and he loved the idea, but he does not have the patience for building kits, unless they are Lego. However, being aware of this, I knew I would be building it so it was mostly a gift for myself that he could then play with afterwards :). I must say that i was very impressed by the quality of the product - the pieces are solid and machined with precision. I thought a few would break when separating them from their sheets but, if you patiently separate the pieces, they come apart well. It does take some patience to build - it took me about 6 hours for this vitascope. There are informative videos that are accessed through QR codes at various stages, which is very helpful, but the instructions are well designed and with a bit of common sense, the kit comes together remarkably well. The finished product is beautiful and works just as advertised. I will DEFINITELY buy another kit for my son for his birthday... ahem... I mean... for myself. I recommend this for anyone who loves building kits and have the patience to do so - a real pleasure!

I loved making my Vitascope. It works perfectly. I use it at school from time to time and the kids are entranced by it. I have had to re-join the film loop several times because the adhesive tape isn't really strong enough, but other that that it is perfect. An excellent project.

Gave this as a gift to a 16 year old and it was reasonably challenging to build in an afternoon. The functional projector looks cool and projects a short animated cartoon on the wall- quite impressive! The crank feels a bit wobbly and not likely to stand up to much force. Overall a very nice gift.
