Rectangular..slightly longer at the back .. the best thing about it is that it doesn't slip when you sit on it.

You don't (I guess) If you have a square profile loo it should fit. If it does not you can return it!

It is softer than I expected, but has stood up very well! The profile is low and it looks good. It is a White Plastic that is bendable (slightly) but tough enough to not get damaged! I guess the best thing I can say about it is that If it did break I would be buying another, just the same!
