How to disable side buttons (back and forward)?

I am having the same issues and I just received this item today. The right button keeps clicking when I rest my finger on it and the back and forward buttons keeping clicking by mistake. I have noticed this same pattern on a few vertical mouse. I guess I will have to get a trackball instead. Might be returning this one.

i noticed this does not auto shutoff after a period of non use and thus ran through a set of AAAs in a few days. why?!

Mine has been turned on and running for over two months. No problem with it! Check with the manufacturer and they will replace it.

how long is the USB cord
