Overall this is fantastic. It lets me shape my hair exactly as I want it, and it doesn't take a lot of wax to shape it as I'd like. A little bit goes a long way. The texture of the wax is creamy. I was initially put off by the strong hair-spray-like odor that came after applying it to my hair, but that dissipates quickly enough, leaving my hair in pretty much the exact same place I styled it while lasting most of the day. It even keeps my hair in-place after a 12-mile run, which is no easy task. If there's a downside, beyond the initial chemically-smell, it's that it does leave my hair pretty stiff. It's still a natural look, and it's still a little bouncy, but there's still a *crunchy* feel to it. I feel the trade-off of long-lasting hold and natural look balances that out.

This product is definitely not stiff. I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

For being rated at the strongest level of hold, I was disappointed when my hair immediately lost its volume and flopped down. This paste was very hard to squeeze out of the tube. It took almost my full strength just to get a little bit out. The wax worked easily through my hair, distributing evenly, however it just doesn’t have that much hold. I wear my hair short on the sides and long on top. I comb my hair to the side and then push it back while adding a little volume to the front. My hair immediately started to fall and deflate once I tried to achieve my desired style. I did like that it had a matte finish, so it wasn’t shiny. I also liked how it didn’t make my hair crunchy, like a gel. Overall, it didn’t work for my desired hair style and I felt it did not have a strong hold.

This Amby Hex Hair Wax is working OK for my 16 year old son, who is not overly fond of hair gels in general, but has an issue in some "trouble spots" with his rather curly hair. He likes that it is decently easy to apply, and it dries with a matte finish. While it's not "crunchy" to him, he did say it has kind of a weird texture to it (I guess like wax) that he wasn't too fond of, and he also didn't like the scent of it overall. Thankfully, the fragrance (or whatever it is) fades pretty quickly once it's dried onto the hair, so it's not a big issue. He does like how it seems to hold well, though. Depending on what you're looking for, YMMV.

This is the first time using a styling wax, so I have no other wax to compare to. I have been using hair spray to keep hair out of my eyes and this wax works better for that. It is great for small area where hold is needed. Just a very small amount does the job. It does not have the problem of hair spray getting into your eyes or breathing the mist. It is a white cream that is very sticky, but it clears and dries quickly. This tube will last me a whole year because so little is needed. I am confused about the difference between the various color tubes, though. They could show photo examples for each.

3.5 ounce plastic squeeze tube of styling wax. 'Wax' in this case is more like a hybrid styling clay/gel. Fairly easy to spread across the fingers/hand and apply to the strands. Rinse off is effortless. Although the product is listed as having the brand's max holding power (10 out of 10) I'd put it more like a 7 out of 10. The matte finish is good though and the product looks fairly natural throughout the course of your day.

if you have hair style that needs lot of control, then this is it. The wax is white in color, but as you rub it through your hair, the white color dissappears. It did a very good job at styling my hair and having it stay in place. It's not gel-like products and does not keep your hair looking wet. It creates a natural look.

I don't always use product in my hair, and when I do it has generally been a gel, including one I bought from my barber. I recently tried a brand-name pomade, but it left my hair feeling sticky all day. This "styling wax" seems to hit a middle ground between the "hard" hold of gel and the unpleasant stickiness of a pomade, although it does have a somewhat unpleasant waxy feel when I try to re-comb my hair throughout the day. It comes out of the tube looking a little like a typical pomade, but it holds well. It also has a pleasant scent, though not too strong. An unscented option would be welcome. In any case, after using this product a few times I probably won't use it again.
