Will this work for a gymnast?

It should. If you have torn up hands this stuff will help greatly with getting them healed up. We have a gymnastics coach at where I do CrossFit and she uses it too.

Is there a difference bw this tube style and the tub with the metal lid? I don't have calluses but my fingertiips are cracking from dry weather.

I don’t know about the metal one but this stuff works great. I have dry skin and tear my hands up at the gym, I use this stufff everyday to keep my hands from cracking.

how do you get the top off?

Unscrew the top (where the color strips are) and then you can press the product up from the bottom (similar to a chapstick tube.)

Has the formula changed for this wod welder? It seems you have to press alot harder against skin than before.

I have brought two of them with the past 6 months. The first one I noticed I had to press a little harder. The second one rolls on pretty easy but it does smell a little different! They both work great though. Hope this helps.
