What type shim should I buy for wobbly umbrella stand?

The nelson 8" wood shims have always worked for me in shoring up anything that wobbles. Like a table, a dresser, or even an umbrella stand.

Will these work for a heavy hutch on padded carpet or will they crack?

they probably won't crack, but they'll bow. I would use the composit. they're grooved so you can break off the extra rather than try to cut/break the wooden ones

are these flat or tapered?

Tapered. Typical shins. From near a quarter inch to bear nothing.

Will these work to level fish tank stand?

I would use a composite type , not wood around water. These work very well in carpentry situations.

Comme on dit, on ne révolutionne pas la roue ici : ce sont des shims en bois qui font exactement ce qu'on leur demande. Ce que j'ai apprécié : Qualité du bois : Le bois est bien sec (Kiln Dried), donc ils ne se fendent pas de travers quand on les utilise. Praticité : Le format de 8 pouces est standard et facile à travailler. Quantité : Avec 24 shims au total, on en a assez pour plusieurs projets de mise à niveau (portes, fenêtres ou meubles). Ça fait la job sans complications. Un bon basique à avoir dans son coffre à outils.

These shims are 100-times better than those I bought at a famous brand home building store. The Nelson Shims are uniform in size, grade, and shape. Shims that do not have these qualities can ruin your job - product.
