Laptop external speakers are alright with me, i'd buy again!
i picked these for several reasons, AC powered, sub mini jack input, stereo with subwoofer, then read a terrible review and almost cancelled, review stated almost no bass, well i've got an abundance of bass, so i am very happy on my initial day of listening, thank you,

BETTER THAN I THOUGHT
Very satisfied! I was worried cuz I was going to plan on using these with my TV and not a computer. So I was worried that it didn't have the RCA hookups but to my surprise I just plugged in the cord to the back of my TV and voila they work. And they sound pretty nice too I'm really pleased

For the price, we'll worth getting.
The sound is clean and balanced. The added volume control.is nice with the added aux and headphone jack. The 1 isuse that is minor to me is the volume that comes out of the headphone jack. Volume has to be 100% and is still rather quiet. Bass is solid as well.

Headset plugin is too quiet.
My issue is the headset plugin, which is why I bought this. The sound is VERY quiet and on max on the dial and MAX on my headset, It's still pretty quiet. Which is really the main reason I bought it, so I could use my headset when gaming with friends and speakers when watching a movie/tv. That's why my rating is so low. Honestly because of that, If I had the patience to refund I probably would, but I guess I'll just unplug the speakers and plugin my headset directly to the pc when switching. A bit disappointing.To put it in perspective, I have the speakers section set to about 50% for loud-enough sound for this room. When I plug in my headset, I have to turn the dial all the way to 100% and my headset to 100% and even then, I'd want another 30% or so.---------------------------------------------------------------EDIT: the bass isn't separate from the treble, so, things start to sound really bad when you turn up the volume. You used to be able to spend 20 bucks and get quality sound with a side of bass. not now. It seems if you want to get any quality speakers with a side of bass, you're looking to spend over $60+---------------------------------------------------------------Speakers/Bass: 1/5 treble is being pumped through the bass, makes it sound horrible when you turn the bass upHeadset Plugin: 0/5 don't buy this just because of the ease of use for the headset like I did, You will just be disappointed. It's not great and probably won't be used by me.. even though that's the WHOLE reason I bought it.

Cyber Acoustics CA-3090 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer with 18W of Power-AUDIO DEFECT
The system has great audio and depth, is stylish, and compact. It doesn't take up much room on a small desk. The subwoofer is smaller than most but has great sound.The one drawback is the round control pod headphone jack, according to a customer rep. at Cyber Acoustics, "it does not function with the control pod volume control at this time and works as a standard passthrough jack. There is no amplifier in for the control pod jack, so the volume for your headphones when plugged into the control pod must be adjusted with the computer's sound settings. Our manufacturers are aware of this issue and are currently working to address the problem in future inventory. "I have adjusted my PC's audio control functions to a full 100%, and it makes no difference. The only headphones that brought through audio from the jack were JVC, but the audio was so low I could barely hear it.

Sound not very good
Just does not have a good sound. (working off a Samsung laptop).Bass is MUCH too boomy, with bass control needing to be turned almost all the way off. I tried lots of different types of music - from classical to rock to Disco to country. Just did not find the sound very balanced or very good. So I immediately returned this item.Too bad - because it has a lot of nice features. I liked that it works off AC instead of USB- which was never designed to power a sound system. I really liked the lit remote control - worked great in controlling volume. I have had similar systems (Stereo speakers w/sub-woofer) in the past which sounded much better than this. I even tried a number of different sound settings but the sound was just not very pleasant for me.Sorry - so I returned it.
