How does the wall mount work?

The wall mount is an oval-shaped plastic unit with a retractable ~5/8" spike on the back. It is hung using the spike and then the laser unit will attach magnetically. Note that the spike lines up level with the laser, so you use the spike as a pilot hole for your first hole when mounting things. The laser will of course also work without the wall mount, you can just hold it against the wall and it works fine that way too if you're not drilling. Hope that helps!

Can It project horizontal laser line to both side at the same time?

It cannot. The laser projects out of any one of the three slits (left, top, right) at a time.

Is there an option for it to level itself?

Sort of. There's an attachment like piece that you hang to the wall like on a nail or something and then it hangs there. I haven't found that part very useful yet and I haven't been very successful at getting the nail piece lined up with where I want. It does have a built in level but I found it difficult to read to determine level or not.

Will this work for floors? Or does it have to be hanging free in order to auto-level. I need to establish a level line 2" above my wavy old floor.

This is for the Vertical Wall and not the Floor

Got this as a replacement for an older model which I’d had for over 20 years, this has the same feel and build quality with some new features - it’s money well spent in my opinion
