Can I wash these in the dish washer?

Hello, you can absolutely wash these in a dishwasher. thanks for your question

Can colored pencils fit, laying down, in the large compartment?

Yes! I actually just put some in there today! (Is amazon watching me?) I had the presharpened crayons class pack (pretty standard size) and they fit perfect

Could you fit a tape dispenser in the larger part of the caddie?

the inside dimensions of the large compartment are approximately 8" long x 3.5" wide x 3.75" deep. The inside dimensions of the small compartments are approximately 3.5" long x 3.5" wide x 3.75" deep. A standard sized desktop tape dispenser should fit.

Why can't you choose which colors you receive? I have a color coded classroom and would need specific colors, and no doubles.
