Heron Derivation Dictionary - 5th Edition

This is such a fantastic derivations dictionary. I own the older edition. I am so happy that I bought the new updated edition.

The derivations in this are fabulous. Simple and easy to understand and they don't send you off on a chain of words to define! Great for all ages!

I really like this derivation dictionary! A number of dictionaries throw you into long and unnecessary derivations, but this one is simple and effective and straight to the point. I used to use the third edition, I think, and this one has more words in it. Props to Heron Books!

I have used Heron's Derivation Dictionary since it was first published way back when. Every edition has been an improvement over the previous. And the original edition was a masterpiece of word histories and usefulness.The 5th edition is very well designed, aesthetically pleasing, and a fun read. The illustrations are colorful and add so much to the already well-written text. I am a lover of words. So when I find a book that makes me go, "Wow, I never knew that!" I am happy to have found it.Definitely recommended for word lovers, English teachers, and home schoolers.

Super easy to use and not complicated on derivations! Love it!

This is a very straightforward guide for learning the history of individual English words. I use it with students who are learning new words and expanding their vocabulary. Seeing the history of a word can shed extra light on the current meaning of the word.

Great book. I had the earlier version. Now the new one. Looking great!
