I came to dread opening the basket on my Hayward sand filter before getting this handy tool. No matter how much seal lube I used, the plastic top stuck tight, requiring strength far greater than mine and a hammer to hit it in order to open it. I searched the internet for suggestions on how to open it, figuring others had the same problem. This tool was suggested in a demonstration video. It works exactly as one would expect, and now I don’t panic when my pump loses its prime and I have to fill the basket with the top open. Highly recommend!

I purchased a new Hayward pump and it came with a universal lid removal tool. Funny, this universal tool is way too big for the lid. I complained to the seller, they said the tool is already in the box. They did not put it there.Searched for the "correct" size on internet (Amazon) and found some. But they are too pricey. Too much for a plastic tool. Finally I found this one with good reviews.It works pretty well. Hope it lasts for a long time.

I couldn’t get my pump lid open so I could clean the basket, this did the trick with ease, but $25? Way to expensive but worth it I guess when you can’t do the job without it

My pump lid absolutely would not come off so I ordered this pump lid tool. It worked so well. I had tried so many things to dislodge the lid and it wouldn’t work. Amazon has anything you need and fast delivery!

I wanted it to work sooooo bad but it didn't fit and was hard to turn. It kept falling off the top and I still can't get the top off. Price wise, I think it was priced too much.

Does not fit exactly but it works alright
