I have tried other brands, and have found that O'Neill swim shirts are superior in quality. They are constructed out of panels (cut on the bias) that hug the body, yet provide maximum movement, especially due to the under arm gusset.I lap swim several x a week, and this brand stays in place without riding up or any need to keep tugging down. The stitching on the flat locked seams is not itchy and is secure. On shirts with long arms, the sleeves fit snugly and do not fill up with water coming in at the wrist.Yes, these shirts take a bit of wriggling to get into, but once in the water, feel invisible and do help to keep your core body temperature warm. To remove, roll up in the opposite direction away from the body; shirt is inside out once off.Like any garment with Lycra content, do not put in automatic dryer. Hang to dry.

After 6 orders and 5 returns, I found one that fit me. I used it while snorkeling in Hawaii and it worked great. Here are my insights regarding the sizing issue - 1. These do run extremely small; you should order two sizes larger than you are and 2. the manufacturing process is inconsistent (ie poor quality control), so that two shirts of the same listed size (s, m, l, etc.) may be significantly different in actual fit.I am 5’10 and 155 lbs, and am a solid “medium” in shirts. I am an active snorkeler and have worn rash guards for years, so I know when it’s a tight fit because rash guards are meant to be a tight fit as opposed to when it’s just too small. I ordered a long sleeve and short sleeve versions of the rash guard in medium size and they were so small, I literally could not pull it over my shoulders. So I returned those and bought the same rash guards in a large size. Those were similarly too small and I had to return both shirts. I finally ordered extra large versions of those shirts, and when I received them, the short sleeve version was an appropriate tight fit (as rash guards are meant to be) but the long sleeve version in the same size was actually too big. I kept the short sleeve version and returned the long sleeve version. So, trying to order the right size of this rash guard is as much a matter of luck as anything, but my recommendation is to start 2 sizes larger than what you normally wear.

Strongly disagree with some reviews claiming you need to go three sizes higher - it's. a. RASH. GUARD. it's meant to fit tight under a wetsuit, and you can't wear a baggy shirt under a wet suit.I typically wear a L/XL for lose'ish Nike Dri-FIT shirts. 5'8", ~175 pounds (~42" chest, 29" waist). Went with an XL, and it fits very much like halfway between a Nike compression L and XL.If you want a proper RASH. GUARD. fit, I wouldn't size up more than one size.

I’ve been looking for a couple years for an ideal “swim shirt”. I’ve bought a few that were marketed specifically as men’s swim shirts; designed to be worn in our out of the water to protect from the sun. These typically are baggy T-shirts made of fitness apparel material and flop and wave while in the water and then get really heavy and uncomfortably snug when out of the water (like wearing a weighted shirt). This shirt however wears like a wet suit; tight like a second skin which doesn’t twist and shift when getting in and out of the water. Comfortable to swim in and doesn’t get in the way, and dries nicely when out of the water. I thought black might be a mistake because it would bake in the sun, but when wet, the evaporation has a nice cooling effect. Excellent sun protection too, I’ve spent hours in the hot July sun without a burn to show for it. My one knock on the shirt is that the sleeves aren’t very stretchy- I am by no means a muscular man but the sleeves get uncomfortably tight after a while. I wear a size L T-shirt and ordered this in L as well and it’s the perfect fit. It’s SUPPOSED to be tight, beer belly or not!

Nice top. Super tight fit for me but I bought it for that and it's still really comfortable. For some reason the cut works for me because I don't look like a tamal, which has happened with some other compression tops I've tried. It's a bit of a struggle to get the thing on though, but worth the effort! Really like the slightly longer than usual sleeves. Not used it outside yet but I have another one in XL that is great (and wears more like a regular t-shirt).

I've owned three of these rash guards. The first two, I got the small size (after carefully reading reviews to get a sense of what I wanted). Those were good for me. Always very snug at first, but comfortable. Eventually they do stretch out and wear out (I swim about four times a week and they last me about a year, but they are really on their last legs a couple months before that). I also had two size small of the premium skins model, before O'Neill discontinued those. That was also the right size for me. And actually, I liked the premium skins model better, although they tended to only last about six months at best.So when I recently bought a third of the basic skins, I just ordered small as usual. That had been fine with my four previous O'Neill rash guards. But this time the small was so tight it was absurd. I especially felt like it was going to cut off the circulation in my upper arms. It was really that tight. Let me say that I have not gained weight and my body has not changed. So it's definitely the rash guard that is different.I have a 36" chest, so the small really should be the right size. I do not have huge biceps or anything like that causing the tightness in the sleeves.I ended up getting a medium to replace it, which is still quite snug, but doesn't make me feel like I'm suffocating or stuck in straight jacket (the new version of the small was almost impossible to get off). It's too bad, because when I have the small on, I can see, from the way the fabric is cut and where the seams line up, that it really is the right size for me. With the medium it's a little more bunched under the arms and too long. But I guess that's what I'm stuck with, if I don't want to be asphyxiated by my rash guard. The only thing that I can see that has changed is that the compsition of spandex and polyster is slightly different from my previous basic skins. My old small is 88% polyester, 12% spandex. The new one is 87% polyester, 13% spandex. It's hard to believe a 1% change really makes that much difference, but it does show that O'Neill made changes, so maybe there's something different in the cut also. Curiously, the medium I got as a replacement is still 88% polyester, 12% spandex, but it has the new letter styling, so clearly it's not just a leftover old model. I don' t now what O'Neill is doing.I know it's common for products to change. But it's really annoying, when you've got something you like and that you know it fits. Especially something like this that wears out yearly from use and will be replaced often. And in the era of ordering things online, where you can't try something on first, it is especially annoying to have to return things. O'Neill had a prefectly good product that did not need to change. I don't know why they messed with it and threw off the sizing.

Size up. I’m chest 38in waist 31in. Size S was too tight on the waist. Reordered a size M and fits perfect.

Tiene una talla menor a la establecida, yo soy talla mediana, y el producto es incluso mas pequeña que la talla chica.

Although the sizing chart was correct with my measurements it was a skinny tight fit which is not what I was expecting

Livraison très rapide! Produit tel qu'attendu.

When I first put this on after receiving it, I thought it was a bit tight, and the bottom was too long as I had to bunch it up around waist just above the top of my swim trunk. It definitely felt a bit restrictive moving around. I was very close to returning it.However, my opinion surprisingly changed after snorkeling with it for a couple of weeks:- The tight fit is actually a blessing... as I swim & snorkel, it felt like a second skin; it stays in place even under strenuous movements under water, facilitating easy & wide ranging degree of freedom of movement. I had another brand that's much looser fitting, and I constantly had to pull it down and smooth it during my in/underwater activities.- It dries very quickly in the tropical sun.- Quality of the stitching is excellent, even after stretching it beyond normal usage while "ripping" it off my body while it was still soaking wet.- It provides great SPF protection - after snorkeling for 2 hours more or less continuously with my back exposed to the sun on the ocean's surface, my back has not sign of sun burn.Bottom line is that this swim/snorkel/surf shirt is designed to be used as designated in it's namesake, not meant to be a casual shirt that flops in the breeze

Recientemente me incursione en la natación y he comprado y probado muchas marcas y las que mas han durado son estas. Los diseños, colores y materiales son excelentes. Además de que cuentan con protección UV. No son baratas pero la relación costo beneficio es buena
