Will these work if plant leaked water and left large water stain?

It should work if the water stain is recent, less than a year. You do have to scrub hard with these cloths for a while to get rid of the water stain but they do work. You can also use mayonaise to get rid of water or heat rings.

Does this take the finish off of the table when it removes the rings?

No, it doesn't take the finish off the table. All it takes is a little gentle rubbing to remove the rings.

will this work for a pool table?

The product works on wood surfaces so if your pool table is wood I believe it would work.

Will this remove heat and water stains from mdf laminate table tops?

Works great on my cherry wood tables not sure about laminate.
