They arrived covered with a white coating of powder, which washes off nicely under running water. I used a soft brush to make sure all of the residue was removed. They are very smooth and the shape varies from round to oval to elongated. They are all at least two inches diameter in one direction and most a bit shorter in the opposite direction. At least two of the elongated ones are almost 3 inches. Nice! There is a hairline fracture on one side of one stone, and two have slight dimples on one side. The surface, as a whole, is very smooth on both sides and serves as a terrific canvas for acrylic paints. I primarily use acrylic markers in various widths and have just started using acrylic paints with brushes. All work well on these stones. I have also used colored pencils on a few of the stones. That works okay; however, the surface must be free of blemishes for the color to stay put. Everything I used on these stones worked nicely…..for an amateur! I have only been doing rock art for five months, and I learn something new each time I use a new stone, but if I need this kind of stone in the future, I most likely will reorder these. I bought mine in February, 2020 at $15.29, and five months later they are priced at $19.99. That is roughly $1.66 per stone. They are pricey, but I would still recommend them for those who paint and sell their rock art or give it as gifts. These are smooth, quality rocks and are amazingly fun to color on for those of us that live in rocky areas where the stones are not smooth but are rough and jagged. Review: Excellent Purchase - I can't wait to show these rocks to my little grandson! We did some rock painting a few months ago and I promised we'd repeat the activity on my next visit with him. Last time, we painted on dark rocks, so I thought the white ones might be a nice change. I received 11 good sized stones, with one being a dark gray disk-shape. This is fine for my needs, but if you happen to require all in the lighter color, you may want to check with the seller, before placing your order. The rocks are pretty and seem to be of good quality, with no breaks or chips. All are very smooth with the light color consistent. I'm very pleased with this purchase and can't wait for my grandson to demonstrate his latest artwork!

Very nice
Great for rock painting. They were fairly smooth and good sizes. Just wish they were more round. I got a few weird shaped ones but they we're still very nice rocks.

Best Rocks For Painting
I love these rocks! I sell on Etsy and these are by far my favorite rocks to use. The smooth surface makes them easy to draw on and does not damage my pens. I love the assortment of sizes and shapes. I have ordered these many times and I am never disappointed!

Beautiful stones!
These rocks are perfect for painting, every single one of them. I’m a repeat customer after having a terrible experience with another seller. This seller says it triple checks the stones and it must because every one of them are good! They are a good price too, half of what the other seller sold their broken, pitted, and mostly unusable stones for. Wonderful product!

Very Nice Rocks for Painting
Ordered these rocks for painting and I am quite pleased with them. They are a great size, all roughly 2-3 inches and not too thick and not too porous. They are all also pretty flat. I put them on a 10" paper dinner plate and they all fit on it. I would definitely wash them before painting as they are quite dusty. They arrived tightly packaged in a bubble envelope and then inside another bubble envelope so no problem with breakage. Can't wait to get painting! The only thing that would make them perfect is if they were a bit less expensive. :-)

Rocks are cracked and uneven
These rocks were not in uniform sizes. They are cracked, chipped, and take several thick layers of paint to stick to the surface. Not really a great product for children or family when you have to keep figuring out a way to fix product errors

Wish there was more of them, they were as advertised

Quality seems good and delivery was on time (just over 2 weeks internationally). A few rocks seem on the small side but I guess the listing is deliberately ambiguous around this. Also no accompanying info about Capcouriers or the source of the stones which I was hoping to find as I like to know the source of the products I purchase and in this case there was none on the listing. Can anyone tell me where these rocks come from? (and why are they called 'Ugly Rocks' in the listing title - can rocks be ugly?!)
