Etch A Sketch Classic, Drawing Toy with Magic Screen, for Ages 3 and up (Style May Vary)

Such a fabulous blast from the past! I got this for my husband's 70th birthday... we love revisiting the fun activities of our childhood. In addition to this Etch-A-Sketch, we've also been having a lot of fun out in our pasture flying TOMI kites from T&D here on Amazon... we just walk out back and fly them for hours. It's a great way to enjoy fresh air and sunshine and just calm our minds down. I also recently got a pony... a big childhood dream! Life is GOOD! We enjoy going to the local festivals and talking with the 4-H'ers and discovering that children have not changed... But I digress! Sorry!!! This Etch-A-Sketch was a huge hit and a complete surprise for my husband's birthday! His face lit up just as it did when he got his first one for Christmas as a young boy! We both enjoy sitting at our desks in the morning watching the news and drinking coffee... it's also the perfect time to "Sketch", too! I take photos of his "art" and keep them in an album on the computer because I remember how sad we'd always be when we had to erase our amazing works of art. I've already ordered a second one for his brother... because I know that as soon as he sees this one, he will want one, too... and I don't want any trouble!!!! (I had to order another kite for him, too.) The Etch-A-Sketch comes beautifully displayed in brightly colored cardboard... Nicely packaged! No batteries are needed, it's ready to go! I highly recommend this for children AND adults! It may be a "toy" but it makes you use your mind and think and plan. It's just as much fun the second time around today at our age as it was when it first hit our toy market here in the USA in 1960 (thank you for this info, Wikipedia). You really have to use your brain, and it's FUN!!! Siblings will compete to out-do each other, too, so you better get one for each child. (Trust me.) I had this toy as a child and it was built like a tank then, I bought these for my grand nieces and nephews, and they are still built like a tank. Excellent toy, doesn't make noise, excellent for hand eye coordination practice. Take the cell phone or tablet away from your kid and stick this in his / her hand and watch their imagination go wild. Doesn't make noise, no batteries needed.

The first one I ordered was defective. The right knob wouldn’t even turn at all. Was stuck like glue, but the seller sent me a new one. I still have to send back the old one my bad but very great seller for the customer. Thank you.

It’s very good not to have an electronic device for the kids. Just a pity it breaks too easily. Size is good, not too huge, but too big and too fragile to take with you for travels. It’s easy to use overall. The current seller MPQ Group Ltd however gives zero care. So try other sellers for this product.

Classic Etch A SketchIt's hard to tell if this is smaller than when we were kids. When we grow up everything looks smaller. But it works great. I'm not sure if the line it draws is as dark as it was when I was younger. I don't think that can change though as we're still drawing lines in the aluminum dust.My 9 year old boy has used it a lot in the first day and continues to pick it up during the following week. My 11 year old daughter likes it too but she has other distractions at her age as well as my son hogs it.I think I kind of bought it for my own nostalgia and to teach the kids about the original "tablets" we played with.

In a waiting room, I found one of these on the toy shelf and handed it to my 13-year-old niece, who likes to draw. She'd never seen one before, but after I showed her what the knobs do, she drew the most amazing picture on it! I ordered one for her 14th birthday; she was thrilled. One amusing moment was when she, a kid who's growing up on ipads and iphones and other such "i" contraptions, left a picture on the Etch-A-Sketch screen for a while; when she came back later she was astonished that the picture was still on it.
