What size inserts does this set use?

No clue how the inserts are measured. I just have those I purchased with the kit.

do these tool holders come with (5) attached inserts & (10) inserts in a separate box ??? also are these meant to be used in very old style tool holde

Comes With total 10 inserts in a seprate box. not for old style holders

these are for metal working right ??? didn't know if the low quality justified them to be used in metal cutting ?? any feedback from other people who

They are good for turning metal and do a reasonable job when set with a slight positive rake. They will break if overloaded or if the rake is not positive enough to have a good cutting edge on the work. I have turned relatively hard materials with them including stainless steel and cast iron. They don't work as well on soft metals in my opinion.

I have had better cutting carbides than these

I have had better cutting carbides than these. They work but are very sensitive to position to make them cut well. I compared them to a set I got last year for quarter inch tools and they are not as good. I will touching them up with a green stone grinder but have not done that yet.

Very Nice

I tried these indexable turning tools in my miniature lathe with very good results. They are very sharp, yet leave an extremely smooth surface with light cuts. The mounting of the indexable ceramic cutters is well machined and secure. They use a miniature Torx screw head, rather than a tiny hex head, for secure tightening, and a screwdriver of the correct size is provided. I will update later if I find anything to gripe about, but right now I couldn't be more pleased with them.
