Vampyr - PlayStation 4

Dontnod Company - again made for us a Great game. Did hard and great job for us. And actually - I don't have any problems with game, not crashing or freezing like others mentioned in lowest score reviews. Little about the game -- Not ordinary or linear story - very interesting to follow, you have to make your decisions. Great made voice acting. Interesting written Dialogue conversations. (Not simply bla-bla about nothing - like exist in many RPG games), in this one interesting to listen. Very detailed made 4 Districts of London, especially West-End District with great looking environment and interior inside houses and many other Great things...I am playing friendly with NPCs (citizens) completing their quest lines, healing them and without embracing them. Combat - is little clumsy sometimes, but anyway overall game is awesome. When you learn it, game is not hard even You are always under-leveled. Do side quests, earn some XP and Enjoy the Game. Experiment with skills. You can reset them - if You are not satisfied. First time for free. Can share some advises if You struggling with difficulty of game: About skills to use -- Suggesting: Most Important skill: Autophagy Lv. 2-3 - You will able to heal yourself, Shadow Mist Lv. 2-3, For Ultimate skill: Abyss - help with bosses and big enemies. Also using few others: Blood Barrier (not often) and Coagulation (this one very helpful against regular enemies and Boss fights - it freezes them for 3-5 seconds, depends on Lv.). With those skills don't have now any problems with progress of game and saving citizens. About weapons: Linston knife (You can get on beginning of Chapter 2, in Morgue) - very fast absorbs blood which needs for using the skills. Very powerful weapon - is Mace (found in sewers in hidden Hideout, Chapter 3, when You first time meet friendly Scals). Myself using more Hatchet and Dragonbane sword for now, Mace is too powerful (upgraded), kills everybody almost in few hits, not interesting (I currently in middle of game, in chapter 4). Ranged weapons like pistols or shotguns - is up to You. Very powerful is Milton's Shotgun (upgraded), You can buy it from him in Hospital area. Or embrace him - if You playing in different way (killing NPC), then will be for free. Update: At the end of Chapter 4 - You will get Remarkable Saber - fully upgrade it - great and very fast melee weapon with decent damage to deal. Hope this will helps others and will make game much more easier and enjoyable. And Sure --- Big Thanks to Dontnod company - for awesome game.

I played the game for 8 straight hours after the initial update on release day, so I think i have a pretty good grip on the mechanic of gameplay and the core premise.... wow. This is the vampire game that fans of the supernatural have been waiting for. The “clunky” gameplay that people were worried about is actually very satisfying, the atmosphere is suspenseful and tense, and it really connects with you. A select bunch of people I entirely committed myself to coming back later and embracing them for xp, once you find out more hints, it really opens your eyes and forces you to second guess yourself; all the while at the same time making you feel the disadvantage/advantage of sparing/killing these citizens with a demanding combat difficulty. Only issue is I didn’t receive my dlc code for preorder. That being said, i have no problem buying it from the store as I am now a supporter of dontnod and their efforts to support this game. Already anticipating a much more in depth and fleshed out sequel that i can sink my teeth into.

Vampyr is a difficult game to love. But if you can it is a rewarding experience from first opening moments to the credits. You can tell that the developers are skilled on making adventure games with lots of characters and meaningful dialogue. There are lots of characters, if you can talk to someone get ready to learn their secrets, fears and relations. The game keeps a good track of all these characters (called citizens in game) and you’ll be surprised that you can easily keep them in mind despite the lackluster facial graphics. Getting to know these people is interesting because they are well written, but it is also necessary because more you get to know a citizen higher experience they yield when you “embrace” them… after all that’s what you are a vampire. The last time a saw such a good marriage between meta-game and gameplay was in Shadow of Mordor’s nemesis system. The only thing stopping you from going berserk and killing every citizen is your own morality and another twist of the game that increases the difficulty when citizens disappear. Thus, there are layers here, the more familiar citizens you kill stronger you become but the world goes bleaker, so it is up to you to balance the difficulty to your taste. This is as awesome as it sounds in game either. So, if have any interest in a decent adult adventure game with some interesting meta-game just buy this already. But, there is the combat … which is not the worst, but nothing special, awkward button mashing, dodging and stamina management, without a doubt this is the weakest aspect of the game. Moreover, the graphics are serviceable, but while environmental design is pretty good to set-up the atmosphere of 1918’s London, the city lacks landmarks and interesting vistas. I was 40 hours in but still got lost constantly despite the small size of the world. I must say I enjoy this non-blockbuster, risk taker games than AAA titles for some years, and enjoyed Vampyr a lot. Strongly recommended.

The only reason I am giving this game 1 star is because it does not function properly. When playing the game there is a point where it keeps giving us an error and we have to restart the game. other than that the game is awesome we love the story, we love the way it looks we just have that issue with the game and we know is the game because we tried other just to make sure and it didn't happened.

Great game! Very dialogue heavy, you have to talk to everyone numerous times but the story line is well done so I mostly found it all interesting. I wish the ending on the main story line didn't mean the end of game play. I still had a few character stories o would have liked to finish. Might play it again and change my tactics to see how that alters it.

It’s a bit choppy on the base PlayStation 4 maybe the update will increase its performance but that’s a big update
