Is the right sided electrical plate interchangeable to the left side?

No, it is not interchangeable to the left side. You have to hire an electrician since you have to install this hard wired. The manual mentions the towel warmer to stay ON for some ridiculous length of time. First time I used it, the towel warmer stayed on for more than 8 hrs. which I find way long. My electrician suggested installing a timer. It works perfectly fine now. Only stays ON for 1 hr. as the timer installed only has 1 hrs. max. It's built very substantial and sturdy. This product is pictured with 2 Honeywell timers. Why is that?

It does not come with a timer. The photos you are referring to are under "Frequently bought together" meaning other customers have purchased those Honeywell timers separately but you can use any hardwired timer. We use one made by Century with a rotary dial.

can a timer be attached? what model?

You need to buy a hardwired programmble timer from other supplier yourself, we don’t supply from our shop now. If you buy a timer and install together with our towel warmer, then you can have it controlled with program your set in advance.

Is there a way to regulate the heat? The top rung is so hot it has burned my towels.
