Great for converting my old movies to digital
This worked perfect for converting my old videos to digital. It was very easy to connect to my old VCR and to my computer. The transferred picture quality was great.

Shows up as a capture device in my old version of Roxio.
Seems to work fine in very early testing. Great price, and it's nice having the extra cable length so the actual device part doesn't stick out of the back of my PC.

Works perfect fo connecting a VCR to a PC
If you have an old VCR and VHS tapes that you would like to convert to video files, you need this little doohickey. You will also need to search for the software online, but I was easily able to find some free video editing software that takes USB video input and turns it into appropriate files, along with a myriad of other editing features that I will probably never use, as I just want the memories saved. Some advice: If you don't have a VCR still, any that are available from Amazon, or Ebay are way over-priced. Keep your eyes open for yard sales or just ask to borrow a friend's old one. I was able to buy one at a flea market for $5 that works fine.

Very good value
Though a bit difficult to set up, the cables did work for the most part. Sometimes the recordings failed for no obvious reason. For a few tapes we had to attempt transfers multiple times, but eventually we were able to get all of them transferred to DVD. For the cost, the cables are an excellent value.

Worst device I have ever tried to use
Had to listened to several Youtube videos in order to make the video work on my computer. Used capture program enclosed as well as OBS; same issue. NEVER GOT THE SOUND TO WORK! I installed this on two separate computers, both current generations, to see if it was a hardware issue and the same results. I have to conclude this was a device failure. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Savior for Old VHS Tapes
I wanted to get all my old VHS home videos copied. This was the best $20 I spent. Comes with software and relatively simple to use and understand. Now all my videos are saved on a flash drive. Luckily I bought a VCR a few years ago at a resale shop. Plug in to VCR and into my laptop. Highly recommend getting this?

The converter is good but the provided software on CD does not work
The software from the CD does not work. The drivers are wrong and the USB device does not work on Windows. However, the manual has different instructions for the software to use OBS Studio. I downloaded on Windows 11 got the Video to work but No Audio. OBS Studio also works on Linux so I installed it on Ubuntu 24, video/audio capture is working properly on Linux. It works on MacOS as you don't need any additional software. You use Quicktime to capture the video.

plug and play baby
works great for what it can do just copyied my wedding VHS to OBS in digital format i did have to plug in the red and white rca jacks from the vcr to the usb device but i used the s-video cable it better quality. so out of vcr with red and white rca jacks and out of vcr with s-video in to device s-video and red and white rca jacks. had to play around with obs a bit to get the sound work right so just play a 30 second segment from vcr to obs to get things working good and it is to Shot cut for editing if you want couse i forgot my video was recording so i need to cut the end off just static,
