Worth every penny
Used for a 2005 Sportster 1200, original kickstand spring broke off going down the road. Put this baby on and works better than original, nice and tight.

It's shiny. It fits.
My father in law screwed his kickstand spring up while trailering his bike. Bikes don't belong on trailers. You will never need a replacement spring as long as you don't trailer your bike. I've never installed a kickstand spring before because I've never trailered a bike. I've never experienced a failure of a kickstand spring. If you do trailer your bike, and you screw your spring up, you might as well buy a shiny one. So, on with the review...This is a kickstand spring. It is shiny. It's not an official Harley Davidson part, so your hardcore Harley Davidson friends may laugh at your bike if you install this. It fits on my father in law's bike. It probably fits yours, too. It's easy to put on. I have no idea why there is so much talk on the Internet about how difficult it is. You remove one screw. You remove the kickstand. You put the new spring on. You reattach kickstand. You tighten the screw. I used blue threadlocker. You can use threadlocker if you want. I've seen recommendations about putting pocket change in the spring to spread it, but that would take way more time than the five minutes I took to install the thing.

Fits and does the job but not as good as it could be
Does not pull the kickstand completely tight to the frame like the factory original on my 02 Road King. I tried to hook it both ways through the kickstand hole, and only back to front would fit, hooking it front to back would not go.

2 months and still good
It took some grinding on the length of the "hook" to make it fit on a 2002 FLHRCI but, it still works good and looks good.

less than 2 month service
I received the spring and it looked good. No problems installing it. Function check was good. Two months later, I rode to a state park. Kickstand was loose. I looked at the spring and on one end, the hook had straightened out. Hook material must have been pretty weak. It was not hitting anything, I didn't run over anything on the road, it just failed. Luckily I had an electrical tie to hold it up for the ride home.I would not recommend this spring. BTW, the link for customer service on the Amazon page does not work.

Fit my 2001 FLSTFI perfectly
I change my jiffy stand springs on my Harley every 3 years because if/when they break, it's a real pain. This spring is nice quality, is easy to install (if you know the trick - no vice grips required!). It's a stout spring and I've been using these for well over a decade. Never had one break as long as I change them every 3 years. Nice!

Lasted 4 years with only moderate riding...
I was on a ride recently and when I got on the bike the jiffy stand wouldn't stay up. Thankfully, the spring was still attached, but clearly one of the hooks stretched out. I carry some "ranger bands" and was able to bind the stand to the bike for the ride home. Once back to the shop, I bent the end closed and reinstalled the spring on my bike until I could get a replacement.I checked with the local Harley shop and they could only get it in black. I didn't realize at the time that I had bought the current one on here, so I told them I already saw one on Amazon that was chrome that I would buy. I was partly choosing this one because it was Kuryakyn and I had used some of their gear on my dresser (this spring was on my 2006 Sportster). It was only when I came here to buy this that Amazon told me I "previously purchased this" 4 years ago.I'm not sure how long I should expect such a part to last, but I also realize, in hindsight, that I have been dragging my stand on left hand turns for most of the time I've owned the bike. I assume that was due to ride height, etc, but now I'm wondering if the spring wasn't holding the stand as high as possible. Anyway, I think I'm going to go back to a black OEM and see how well that one works. I don't really want to replace these every 4 years! YMMV.
