inTank Chamber ONE Media Basket for Fluval Spec 16 and Fluval Spec 60L

Originally I received a defective one without slits in the side, so Amazon sent me another. Even after receiving the correct product, I was still disappointed.Firstly, it won’t fit properly in a Spec 16 without removing the filter guards, as the clips that hold them in place block the media tray from sliding in. This would allow smaller fish and shrimp to get trapped in the filter.Second, this product was clearly not designed with proper filtration in mind. The proper order for filtration should always be mechanical, biological, then chemical. I got this thinking it would be easier to utilize sponges cut to size, but the shelf placement is not optimized for this there should be two removable shelves above and below the slits in the sides so the middle can be filled with floss or biological media.Finally, I would not recommend buying this product. It’s overpriced and needlessly over complicated with little to no benefit. Just cut a piece of filter floss to size and put that in the first chamber. This will leave more space to utilize other equipment such as an air stone or heater.

This was not plug and play for my Fluval Evo 13.5. The cut out was not in line with the plastic ridge in chamber 1. I had to use an oscillating tool to widen the cut out so the unit would go into chamber 1. I bought this product so I would not have to go through a DIY project, but I kind of had to anyway.

Works perfectly for my tank and easily customizable

This insert is beautiful. I immediately realized I spazzed out and bought the wrong one, I meant to buy the one for the evo 13.5. But if you want to beef up an all in one filter this is a great product. Sad that I have to wait for the right one to come in. Lol

Seems to work well so far. I have the chamber 1 and chamber 2 media baskets for my Fluval Spec 16 tank. The only issue I have is lowering the water levels in the side compartment, which is due to how Fluval designed the tank.
