Does it come with a dvd or link to a bob ross video on how to paint?

No this is the basic set, the master set came with a DVD. The master set is no longer offered by Bob Ross INC. However the DVD getting started (which was included with the master set) is available here on Amazon.

Are these acrylic or oil paints?

They are oil! There is a base white in the set that is acrylic though.

Does it come with a canvas or pallet?

No, just paints, brush,knife,paint and liquid white.

How many paintings will the kit make? I was hoping to use it for a painting party.

We used a lot of paint for two canvas’. We probably could make one more painting with the paint that is left.
