Evapo-Rust RB018 Rust-Block Water-Based Rust Inhibitor – 5 Gallon, Corrosion Inhibitor

If you order this at midnight after working 70-hours a week for months you might miss the fine print just like I did. I was wondering why the product didn’t remove the rust as well as the little bottle I had previously used as a test. Thought it might be a different concentration. Never thought I bought the wrong product. Spent hours soaking, removed some of the rust with brushes and sandpaper. Finally gave up and just painted as-is with rust. My garden flamingo project ended up costing over $150 and still not rust-free - when I probably could’ve bought a new one for $200. And I would’ve saved hours of free time of which I have so few.The product is probably great at what it’s meant to do, thus the 5 stars. I’m not penalizing the company for my mistake. Probably good idea to wear gloves but I didn’t and my hands are fine.If the manufacturer is reading this, you may want to use a different color on the bucket and label as it’s virtually identical to the rust remover product.

This stuff is amazing. Just make sure you use the rust preventer after removing the rust or it will come back worse than before.

Does NOT do what it claims. Rust on my upper control arm after soaking and scrubbing for 6 days.Does it look like the rust evaporated?Maybe it works on very light surface rust but as you can see did nothing.Waste of money. As much as I wanted to avoid sandblasting it look like I have no choice.Avoid this product unless you enjoy throwing your money away

Easy to use

Did not seem to work as effectively as previous bucket.

Good stuff for keeping freshly stripped parts from going to rust right away. Works great under paint finishes as an inhibitor under primers.

I was about to order this product as I have used evapo rust in the past and love this stuff. BUT, I noticed some complaints about it, and then realized that this is a rust inhibitor. Beware, if you are looking to remove rust get the Heavy Duty Rust Remover. Be careful what you order. Amazon does have the rust remover
